Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Course

Description

The aim of the course is to develop the skills and knowledge of anyone who is required to use an auto-injector for the treatment of anaphylaxis.

Duration of course

A half-day course consisting of theory and some practical work

Syllabus

A range of subjects is covered including:

  • Allergic reactions
  • Casualty care
  • Adult, paediatric and infant resuscitation
  • Recovery position
  • Auto-injectors (Anapen and Epipen)

Validity

The qualification is valid for 3 years from the date of the course finishing.

Certification

Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual through on-going assessment during the course and issue a certificate of attendance.

Numbers

A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course and there is no age barrier.
