CIEH Registered Level 2 Awards in Food Safety

Description

These qualifications have been developed to address the growing need to make learning more relevant to specific business environments and meet the National Occupational Standards. The CIEH Level 2 Awards in Food Safety provide a flexible syllabus which enables training to be tailored to meet specific needs.

Whether you’re looking for a job in catering, seeking to improve your job prospects or thinking of starting your own food business, then this course is for you.

Duration of course

The course consists of a minimum of six contact hours in the classroom, consisting of a number of activities, including working in groups, videos and fun quizzes.

This is often run as a 1 day course but can be delivered over two days, subject to negotiation.

Syllabus

A range of subjects is covered including:

  • Firm grasp of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved
  • Understanding of how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling)
  • Confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers

Validity

The qualification is valid for 3 years from the date of the course finishing.

Certification

There is a multiple choice question paper at the end of the course. A qualification certificate will be issued by the CIEH to those who pass the exam. In addition, the CIEH strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours.

A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course.
