Manual Handling Train the Trainer
The course is designed primarily to give the skills to deliver manual handling training to others. The manual handling training is to preventing injuries to those involved in factory, office and construction settings. It covers and introduction to manual handling, appropriate legislation, and the structure of the spine together with the importance of correct posture, risk assessments and finally how adopting the correct manual handling techniques can minimise the risks of injury. This course is aimed at those individuals who are responsible for training others that are involved in the movement or handling in an office, factory or construction environment.
Duration of course
A 1 day course consisting of theory and some practical work.
A range of subjects is covered including:
- Legislation overview
- Anatomy and function of the spine
- The spine and good posture
- Safe practice
- Manual handling risks
- Safe lifting techniques
- Kinetic lifting techniques
- Delivering trainging
The qualification is valid for 1 year from the date of the course finishing.
There is a multiple choice question paper at the end of the course, along with on-going assessment by the instructor. Upon successful completion the candidates will receive a certificate in Manual Handling Train the Trainer (workplace) that is valid for 1 year.
A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course and there is no age barrier.
